reading around it sounds like he (yes, he) is writing satire. if that's so, he has the jargon and the timbre pitch perfect.

We'd like to back there, actually. We passed through it on the way to New Orleans without really knowing anything about it. Regal marble bath houses, a beautiful "downtown"... the sort of Main Street America you tend to think doesn't exist anymore.
