[it seems that Oliver's sphere has regained its pesky habit of turning itself on at inopportune moments. he certainly didn't turn it on, evidenced by the fact that the image the sphere is broadcasting is none other than Oliver in bed in his allotted room in the Gerostana. he's rather tangled up in his sheets, but his eyes are closed, and he looks for all intents and purposes dead to the world--except that he's squirming]
No... No, no, get away...
[as the transmission keeps broadcasting, Oliver continues to toss and turn, mumbling to himself in short snatches. those who know Oliver might not find this terribly unexpected. however, instead of ending his dream with his usual scream of horror, this time he lets out a rather shrill scream of pain. he sits bolt upright in bed, eyes wide. it takes him a second to stop screaming. he's breathing hard now]
What just...what...
[looks around him in confusion, but, realising where he is, relaxes slightly and takes a few deep breaths]
Just a dream. Again. But...a dream.
[sighs. but then he frowns, wincing, and tries to look behind him. something seems to be amiss. luckily for the other passengers, the sphere moves in and adjusts its angle--how obliging of it!--so that the audience can see what Oliver is trying to look at. it seems he was sleeping in trousers only, and his bare torso and back are visible. in the dim light of the room, any onlookers can see his usual scars. but there's something else, too. there's a long gash there--running down his back, starting at the shoulder. not only is it new, but it's still bleeding. he can't see it, but his fingers brush it, and his eyes widen when they come back red] Oh, god... What happened!?
