And also a question: are characters' abilities still nullified during the Fighting/Endurance types of trials?

Their abilities will be available to them, yes, but only so far as the ones they can use to fight/survive. Any that can be used to escape will still be nullified.

Might feel a bit of a tingle of energy, but nothing really harmful. It'd be a bit like touching a Van de Graaff generator. We actually debated about having them electrified, but figured we threw enough things at you guys that it wasn't entirely necessary ^^; Plus, well, there are children/teenagers onboard...

... Okay, that's a joke but the plot does look pretty cool. Just a question: since several of these trials look like they'd involve NPCs do we post here what we want to happen to our characters or just make a post with it in the subject line?

Haha! Actually I had just watched it again tonight which is why I immediately thought of it when I read this post.

So the characters will still be able to speak over the Spheres?

One of the duelists must ask this, and it might as well be me (yeah, there's what, three of us?). Will the guards play Duel Monsters if that's what we want to play? It could be handwaved if they will, but I'm just curious.

Also, Hell Kaiser would love to go a few rounds with those dragon things. Sure, he gets weaker if the temperature goes up, but he'd fight back hard.

Lastly, Hell Kaiser kind of is the dark version of himself. ;)

Actually...I don't see why they can't! The guards will have confiscated the card decks, but the duelists do have the option of asking to play with them. The same memory loss things apply, though, and they won't be able to take their decks back with them to their cells.

As for the doppelgänger thing, the "darker" version can be interpreted as a past version of himself that he'd rather not face. Something that will him face a truth about himself that he'd rather run away from or deny with every part of his being. It could even be his antithesis, what he could be like if he wasn't who he is.

And you can do as many of these trials as you want~
