I had a feeling.
[He tries to disguise the faint tinge of embarrassed red that creeps across his expression as he takes the hand up, rubbing at his face with the other. He pauses only to turn back and retrieve his wayward sphere.]
Lunch is first priority, then, I imagine? Or whichever mealtime it is, out here in the middle of nowhere.

[He takes the cue and starts off in the direction he was originally headed before that whole vicious wolf assault debacle took place, trying to think up some sort of one-sided conversation to have.]

And it was not a vicious wolf assault, such a melodramatic. Really, she could do and had done far worse, he had somehow managed to miss her being truly vicious in any sense. But he was welcome anyway, and she rubbed her forehead against his arm as they walked.]

Anyway, you didn't let me finish. I was going to say that I'm glad I couldn't do something so stupid, in the end.
I've done some pretty awful things - like stealing pastries from the kitchen before dinner- That one still weighs on my conscience terribly. But forgetting Ammy would have to top the list.
