Also because the name is of Celtic/Gaelic origin (which he primarily is also) and it supposedly means "Young Warrior", which he also pretty much is. So.

When he was all.. young and warrioring, of course. Like Braveheart. Omg they should remake Braveheart with Ewan in it instead. HOT!!
