While I've read that Type 2 diabetes is not inheritable, I do question that because of the number of women in my Mom's family who have had it - her grandmother, her great-aunts, her aunts, her mother, my mother. I think I've got an aunt or two with it or they're at least watching it. So, I keep an eye on mine, because I also had gestational diabetes, which can make you more prone to having diabetes later. I do try to watch my weight, although I struggle with that. But, my Mom was a thin woman and so were some of her great-aunts, and they still had it.
Hopefully, they'll just find that you're pre-diabetic and then you'll have the opportunity to prevent it.
Guess we might be seeing a lot of that heated swimming pool and the whirlpool in Chicago, as those will help your hip and knee feel better.
I am not sure what the blood test will say and what tests that will trigger either. Just wait and see at this point. I don't have any family history of it, so that's a plus.
Yes, I hope it's just pre-diabetic and nothing more.
