I got mail!

After another horrendous day, I got a lovely postcard in the mail! siriala send me a postcard from her trip to Rome! *massive hugs* I loved it. I had called home earlier in the day and Craig said, "You've got a postcard from Rome!" He was shocked and I think a wee bit jealous.

That's pretty decent Friench. Just a couple of things... I'd be more inclined to say Merci beaucoup pour la belle carte postale... J'éspère que tous vos joursand also Je vous envoie mon amour...

Also, if she is a close friend, it might be OK to use 'tu' rather than vous.

But hey, kudos for doing it, even if you don't get it spot on, I've found the effort is often appreciated!

"tu" is ok, of course. And you're right, the effort is totally appreciated, particularly after coming back from Rome where I had such a hard time remembering bits of Italian from school, some twenty years back ;D

Je trouve ça plutôt bien ! Et je fais des erreurs tout le temps en anglais, donc je sais ce que c'est ;) (translation for Shelby : I think it's quite good ! And I make mistakes constanly in English, I know the problem ;))

Non, je n'ai pas de talent pour faire des icônes, seulement pour les wallpapers. Celle-ci est de lotrjunkie009 mais j'utilise des icônes faites par plusieurs personnes talentueuses, y compris Shelby. (translation : no, my talent is not in making icons, only wallpapers. This one was made by lotrjunkie009 but I use some made by many talented people, including Shelby)

Me saying it? rolflmao... oh wait, you were serious. *g* My southern accent is so bad that I have a hard time with northerners and whatnot understanding me in English, let alone another language. Though I have had people tell me I have a "lovely southern accent", I cannot stand to hear myself on tape or on a phone message or anything. *shudders* I sound like a redneck hillbilly to myself.
