Ah, it's all good. We've been fighting for a loan modification for the past 5 years, it seems like, and the only way for us to get the mortgage company to listen to us was to stop paying them. Yes, it's a risk. Yes, it ruins our credit. But all that can be fixed. Now that I have a job, it might be easier for us to get a modification or move, which the latter is what we want to do.
