Wow... sounds like the same crap they pulled with Farscape. Kill it at the height of it's popularity AFTER they had ordered the fifth season. (They'd picked it up for fourth and fifth at the same time.. did the fourth and didn't renew the option for the fifth. cause they're assholes.
My brain went off to la-la-land and I forgot to turn on the TV last night. So I saw nothing.
There's a fine line between leaving a show on the air too long and taking it off too soon. Why does the fast majority of science fiction television always falls on the off too soon side?
Oh, sorry for putting some spoilers right out there in the open. I was fuming when I read the Eureka board and didn't think about it.
I know that the six-episode season was going to be it, but they can that idea. According to some tweets from cast members, they're pretty upset about Skiffy canceling the last six episodes.
This show is being canceled far too soon. It still has a couple of more years left, IMHO. The addition of Felicia Day to the cast and seeing more of Wil Wheaton are working out great.
The spoilers weren't that bad. I'll just have to remind myself to watch the episodes online before next week. Maybe on Friday when I go catch up with the Stephen King References for Haven.
Neither will AMC... look at the cra they're pulling with mad men. Networks who can't understand the concept of original programming should not run in. Period.
Granted I compare everything to how Fox's treatment of Alien Nation that gave me an irrational fear of two-parters, but that is just shitty way to treat a franchise even by that standard. Seriously, not even a phone call before hand? I'll enjoy Warehouse 13 while it lasts but if it gets a season four I'll be shocked.
Reading that makes me even angrier at Skiffy. Skiffy shows no loyalty to the great shows they have. Ratings were good, so I wonder why the decision was made to cancel the show in the first place. But to promise six episodes to wrap everything up and then drop it? Not a way to treat a franchise that helped keep Skiffy floating.
Ok, now I really am canceling my cable tv. Eureka is the only reason I still have it. When there is no more Eureka, there will be no more cable in my house.

This is one of the reasons why I'm glad Skiffy didn't go ahead with making a Tin Man series, they would have ruined it.
