So things have been really great lately, which means that of course we're going to be hit with bad things.  So I'm gonna vent a little negative, so I can get back to the positive

Maybe this is just the guy in me, but at some point, I think that thank you notes to not-old-people should be replaceable with e-mails and/or facebook messages. It's basically the same idea without the stamp, you can even send a pretty e-card or something if you really want to.

Could be the guy, could be the non-Southerner in you. My mother would strangle me if I didn't send the thank-you notes in a timely fashion. First batch went out today!

E-mail can be timely! Particularly since you're cutting out the snail mail transit time.
