Even with electricity, they didn't have lights. Only what they could filch from the Compound without anyone noticing.

Sam had pretty much always been a morning person, and if she hadn't been, the Air Force would have cured her of it, so she just grinned. God, she'd missed him.
"I just came to say hi," she said, with a sheepish half-shrug. She had missed her friends, yes, but she was also very quickly going nuts with boredom. Sam liked work, and there wasn't much in the way of her kind of work to do here other than futz with Ba'al's computer.

"Did you have something in mind or...have you been down to the waterfall, yet?"

She shook her head. "I haven't looked around that much yet. Why don't you show me?" At the very least it could be a new and interesting detour for her morning run.
