The past couple of years, I've made Shirley Guilfoy's Dilly Green Pickled Tomatoes. (Yes, that's their title in our family.) I had them once as a kid and bleeeech! I never wanted then ever again, but my mom loves them so I make them for her ( Read more... )

LOL! We don't have secret recipes in my family, just the knowledge that I make the best...(oh, ok, I'm kidding!)

Shirley Guilfoy's Dill Green Tomatoes

Select small firm green tomatoes
Pack in sterilized jars
To each, add:
1 clove garlic
1 stalk celery
1 hot green pepper
1 head of dill

Combine 2qts water
1 qt cider vinegar
1 c salt

Cook for 5 minutes
fill jars to 1/2" from top seal

makes about 3 gallon Cherry tomatoes

I didn't know you like them. I probably have jar left from the ones I did up last fall - we'll bring 'em when we bring you Tyler.

i KNOW! Can't wait! I don't know when we'll bring him and I expect if I take a nifty beach vacation, Dad will actually have a stroke...
