Sears apparently doesn't ship lawn mowers to Glasgow, so MontanaMary was kind enough to haul one over when she and The Bug came to visit. Today I got to try it out, and was pleasantly surprised. While it's not totally quiet, it is a lot quieter than a gas mower, and there is no gas tank to fill, no oil to change, all in all very pleasant to use, and light

I've used an electric mower for the past 18 years.

It's quieter than a gas mower, and doesn't give off gas fumes in the garage.

it's a littlle odd, at first, to use. it sounds like you're vacuuming your lawn. Plus, you have to "mind the electrical cord", just like when vaccuming hte house.

"minding the cord" is a good thing. It's good practice for maintaining situational awareness. ;)
