Thank you for this! One of the things that have stood out for me in this whole series - but particularly in this episode - is the imagery. The scenes of Garrow's grief are especially poignant, and I'm struck by how he appears so small as he sits by Southouse's deathbed. I agree with your comments about Pinnock- potentially brilliant in s4!! Never mind all the other possible plotlines to follow! And your data on viewer interest will be really useful to harangue the BBC with!
that's true, they worked more with symbols in this series than in the last. i feel this made the episodes so strong, it really added to the emotional impact. it's nice to see how not only the plot develops, but also the making of the programme.

people are hunting for any aspect of garrow's law. of course my little blog is not really that representative, but as most of those hits are "new" visitors, interest in the series really seems to be big. i hope somebody takes notes, i'd hate to chain myself to the doors of the bbc to get a 4th series. ;)
