Things I've done lately:
  • Accidentally joined a book club. They were reading Shards of Honor, which I'd been meaning to read anyway, as I'd already read a couple of the later books in the series. The book was good, and deftly avoided anything creepy in the "Guy takes girl captive and they fall in love" premise. The discussion was low-key; everyone ( Read more... )

Yes, that's the plan! I've already read The Warrior's Apprentice and a collection of short stories called Borders of Infinity, so now I might as well try to stay in chronological order!

Oh, and I never thanked you enough for the Professionals DVDs. I really enjoyed watching them, and I was sad to hear that Lewis Collins had died. Bodie was my favorite.

Um, this is the woman who I met at WisCon two years ago, right? I'm terrible at names. And at faces. If you come to WisCon next year, we should plan to meet so we can have another magical conversation at the ConSuite.

I'm glad you joined a book club! I've always meant to do that but never really found one. But I do board game meetup groups and a writing group with some friends of mine, and that kind of structured social interaction can be really fun and enriching.

Ooh, board game meetups are awesome. I wish more social interactions featured board games ;-) Talking with people is easier when you are also settling Catan or buying Park Place out from under them.
