I truly enjoyed your Holmes story. :) -You already know that I loved the Lewis one. :)

I tried to leave a comment on that acd fic three times when it was posted, but LJ kept eating my comments, so I gave up for the time being. But I absolutely adored it. Brave, clever Mary. This is pretty much as I picture them in canon; Holmes and Mary are both exceptional persons who deserve their happiness so much, but both know they can only have it at another's expense. Bittersweet and beautiful.

Oh, I remember that time when LJ was eating comments. Very frustrating. Thanks so much for remembering and commenting anyway! I too admire the Mary of canon very much, and I'm so glad to hear I seem to have portrayed her as I hoped. Thanks!

P.s. Sorry to miss you the other day at that Empty House watchalong! I do hope you'll enjoy the Russian version when you see it. I was discovering the Granada one for the first time myself. It really is excellent.

Actually, it's just occurred to me that in some ways it's rather a shame there's no Granada Mary. I would have liked to see how they portrayed her.

There is! And I like her a lot, too. Look for the Granada version of The Sign of Four (with Edward Hardwicke as Watson). She and Watson don't get past the flirting stage, but still, she's great. And I really enjoyed the movie as a whole.
