It's nice to go home even as we move away from it. The minister does sound like a boob. Very different from my childhood- growing up in NYC I certainly never built my life around religion/church as a gathering place. I grew up across the street from a Catholic church/school and even all the kids in my neighborhood who went to services and attended the school didn't seem to have it as the central thing in their life.
How are you doing overall? I'm retired (yeah!). My husband passed away very suddenly three years ago. A is finally married to his girlfriend after 12 years of togetherness. He's still working at the same place doing drug research. Z is living in Brooklyn and his girlfriend recently moved in with him. He's an art director at the NY Times, their second youngest so very cool.
