Meredith's Undergrad Mantras:
  • The index is my friend.
  • When in doubt, circle 'B'.
  • I will not mock dead philosophers. (Unless they really deserve it.)
  • I will not make snide references as to the sex lives of dead philosophers.
  • I will not slash Hamlet and Horatio.
  • I will not build a time machine just so I can go back and strangle Freud.
  • I will not ( Read more... )

My final paper in Politics in Lit last spring was about Socrates. I spent weeks mocking a dead philosopher and making snide references to his sex life. And then I spent a couple hours writing the actual paper.
Never did manage to work his soldier boy in.

*hugs* School is lame.

Socrates deserves to be mocked as much as possible. *giggles* I would have paid to see you work in his little soldier-on-the-side.

Actually, you know what? Almost all the Greek philosophers should be mocked mercilessly.

*hugs* It is.

I will not slash Hamlet and Horatio.

OH YES YOU WILL. Because they were so doing it. (Also, I may well end up writing a paper that insinuates that. Heeee.)

It's hard not to make BoB references in history seminars! Well I know.

*hugs*

At least I'm not the only one who sees Hamlet/Horatio! Whew, thought I was loosing it, there for a bit. Though I'm not sure I want Hamlet to be happy with anyone, after the crappy way he treated Ophelia.

*hugs* BoB can kick many a history professor's arse.

Giggling is not an appropriate response to the mention of headless samurai. It isn't?

I will not ask inappropriate questions about the private lives of Imperial Chinese Concubines. If you won't, then I will!

I will not set fire to my copy of The MLA Guide to Documentation, no matter how tedious citation becomes. I can not bring myself to actually buy that book. I borrow my friend's every time I need it, and I need it quite often, but I can't seem to make myself spend money for that particular brand of torture.

According to my Japanese History professor, it isn't. ^^;;

*grins* I like the way you think, girlie! ^__^

I have my MLA guide left over from high school AP English. Truly horrifying, it is.

Of course it is. Your japanese history profesor needs to get a sense of humour transplant.

Saying that, I read your words about that and began laughing so i can't say anything.
