I adore the way you have with language. It's almost magical. Having Jack revert to his mothertongue to speak to Ianto now is so meaningful and profound.

Thank you! I worried that having Jack revert to his native language would seem cliche but, then I remembered times of emotional upset when I myself was living in Japan. It's like the second language flies out of your head when you're really stressed... and I think Jack reverting shows how deeply Ianto has gotten under his skin. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Another gorgeous chapter. I felt Jack's pain so strongely here, as he was undressing Ianto. So careful to fold the clothes the way his love would want them, not happy because he knew Ianto wouldn't like being so exposed... I can't help wonder what the consequences are going to be (for both of them) when he finally gets Ianto back. He is a bit insane... (and I do love this Jack). I'm really curious how he's going to react to an animate Ianto. Sorry my comment isn't as long as usual, but this chapter seems to have instilled a sense of quiet reverence in me (or perhaps it's the bad cold I just came down with that's to blame).

I'm sorry you have a cold, my dear! I'm very glad you were able to comment, but I hope you get some sleep and feel better. Winter colds are nasty and tend to stick. *frowns at Ohio in general* It's too cold *everywhere*.

I'm glad Jack's actions in this chapter made sense. You're right-- he is more than a little crazy... every time I watch "Last of the Time Lords" and "The Sound of Drums", I can't help but think insanity is almost unavoidable for Jack, if he's alone. He needs Ianto. *valiantly ignores COE even though she's writing about it*

This fic is so totally engrossing, i have a feeling Ianto isn't going to be himself when he comes back.

*blushes* Thank you! I hope my characterization of Ianto post-ritual will make sense. You're right-- I don't see how anyone could experience death and not come back changed. Even Owen admitted it!
