Received a fine in the mail today for $1700 due to not giving a valid reason for not attending Jury Duty. It was a bit of a shock, this being the first time I have heard about it. To think I missed out on Jury Duty, something I always thought would be interesting. The date of notice was April last year, which would place the original letter

your kidding me!!! $1700 is a hellova fine!! Well at least you do have a good reason for missing jury duty. I would so not pay that fine!
