with great COURAGE...

Dear residents of the Thor,
Alright, before everyone goes off the deep end and assumes we're all going to die, why don't all of you scientists-types help me out with something.

Anyone recognize these?

I don't think I've ever seen anything like those before. How do they even work? Tearing a black hole apart doesn't exactly sound possible.

Hey, don't expect me to explain the science behind them. Not really my thing. But I've seen them in action a few times, and they work alright.

Wouldn't something like that just make a black hole expand and kill us faster? This is like blowing my mind.

Apparently not. It was explained to me as 'twisting space back to normal', but who knows.

But most of my relatives inventions can get a bit...mind blowing. Like the screw-driver that warps space. And the hammer that can turn explosions into light.

. . . woah! What ARE those things? I've never seen anything like that in my whole life!

Dimensional pliers. Part of GGG's arsenal when fighting alien invaders.

Gonna have to use a few more adjectives. So...what? Awesome, silly, unbelievable?

Dimensional pliers? Can't say I've heard of those before but if it'll get us out of this predicament, you can count me in.

Excellent! What are your skills?

I've worked on ships and related machines all my life. Give me anything involving moving parts and / or electric currents and I'll have it doing whatever you want it to do better than you could ever expect.

Alright. Let me send you the specs.

Can you find your way to the docking bay? I've got about half of the necessary components and plenty of tools to work with. If you're as experienced as you say, I'd be happy to let you take charge with this whole thing.

Think this ship has any replicators? There's one part that I'm a bit worried about finding...

...is it necessary for them to actually look like pliers?

hot_cyborg_girl January 13 2012, 05:22:44 UTC
Well, they were used like pliers by the mech that wielded them, and I don't want to mess with the design too much.

sapphirearrow January 13 2012, 05:25:29 UTC
I suppose the real question is why they were like that in the first place.

hot_cyborg_girl January 13 2012, 15:35:47 UTC
Because they were designed by a crazy scientist. Same guy who thought that a giant rock-and-roll playing robot would be effective against invading space aliens.

Ripping a black hole apart sounds like kind of a bad plan.

Is dying the better option?

gravity_splode January 13 2012, 21:07:54 UTC
That's gonna depend on who you ask. Me, I've done the dying thing already. Another time can't really hurt.

Have you ever been torn apart before? I have, and it isn't fun.
