You seem not to realize that swordplay is just as much science as it is art.

Techniques that have been passed down from teachers to students throughout the ages all have their roots in carefully formulated strokes and parries that follow the laws of physics. Using your opponent's momentum to your advantage, blocking what would have been an otherwise fatal blow, predicting your opponent's next move based on their footing...
