[She wasn't mad. His voice was way too sincere for him to be lying to her, and she believed him. In fact, she somewhat understood, since she often took the same approach to her own home world.]
[Her voice is soft and calm when she eventually responds.]

[And another pause, because she's completely unsure where this leaves them. Even if this Lily girl wasn't around, from the way James spoke of her, they hadn't exactly broken up. Not officially.]

[But, a myriad of things. The first, and likely most obvious, being that his "relationship" with Lily, whatever is or was, is his first foray into doing anything serious with a girl that wasn't snogging in a broom closet, or after a very impassioned quidditch match, and he's got no experience in how these things work.
Much less how they work in odd situations like this.]
I don't know how this is...supposed to work. If you've got any advice, love, I'd kill for it.
