The object of the game is to make the DM behave as a Drunken Monkey, with one's stellar crushing of their carefully plotted campaign. That is where the acronym originates from.

The DM must act as an evil mastermind. It is the heroes' aim to drive him to such rage and impotency that he feels he is a monkey.
