There's a dojo on this ship. I wonder what else they can fit in here. Maybe an amusement park. Or carnival. [He might be half joking.]

[While, normally, she would've brushed off or outright ignored his lame attempt at humor, Midii was a bit off this week. The words "amusement park" and "carnival" were close enough to circus--which reminded her of Nanashii--that she visibly winced.]

[Looking away for a moment, she collected herself enough to reply:]

I'm sure we would've seen one already if they did.

[There's an eyebrow raise. Obviously he'd catch something like that. He was trained to pay attention to things like that. He's just going to give you a look.]

[A pause.] You alright?

There's just...a lot going on right now.

I see. Well, you can come by my room whenever I'm in if you want. It's not like I'm super busy.

[She takes note of the thoughtfulness and forces a smile, knowing she must've seemed really pathetic to elicit such a reaction.]

That...might be nice, actually.

At the very least, it'll keep me from being alone and thinking too much. Wouldn't want that.

[He's not that terrible. He just kind of knows how it is trying to pretend things aren't that bad when they are. He's good at reading people.]

Alone? On this ship? That's like saying you've discovered how to pop eyeballs out of your head safely.

Sometimes, a person could be surrounded by others and still feel completely alone.

Yeah. But that means that you just haven't talked to the right people then. It doesn't mean that it'll always feel lonely. You just need to find a few people you'd consider good friends and the ship suddenly seems more friendly.

Everyone does really bad things once in awhile. The fact you know you did something bad and accept it is already a step forward. You think we all were just made of sunshine and miracles?
