Unfortunately, I have found myself placed in a position requiring such encounters against my will. At the least, someone with potent healing capabilities saw fit to lend his assistance upon seeing that video.

It would appear so. Prior to my arrival here, I was able to rely on the aid of the police, and particularly on that of a certain detective who attached himself to me many years ago.
