I got a cool new job this month.

Comic book writer. Yup.

So I want to know what you guys think, because I want my comic to be the coolest.

What kind of super powers do you think are the best?

And you know what else, I think Riku will be the main character.

...Lucky.

Here's an idea: make a bunch of people here characters and give them the worst powers you can think of. I'd read it. [A small grin.]

That's a good idea.

But I would rather be nice to them. Who wants to get beat up over a silly comic.

Aha, but it's all in good fun, right?

...Well, I used to read comics all the time. And my deck is all something out of a comic, too! So I like to think I know a thing or two.

[At least it counts when you're a fanboy...]

The ability to make anything happen with absolute certainty is the best superpower anyone could ever have, ever.

... I guess flying and eyebeams are a good second if you're going for a traditional comic book. No capes, though!

Is that first one kinda like mind control?

No, it's magic! Like saying, 'My magic will make this event come to pass', and it totally does, no ifs, ands, or buts.

While such an ability might be of great practical use, would it not rob a story of all dramatic tension?

Skill with a weapon is more impressive than a superpower, as it implies a level of dedication on a character's part. That being said, what is truly important is the quality of the writing and characters. The best-spun tales can transcend the typical cultural barriers that hinder not only this particular medium, but others as well.

You're probably right. I'm not a writer though, but I've got a cousin who is. So I'll probably go to him for important interesting story stuff.

I don't know much about comic books, whatever those are, but someone should definitely use two swords. That's cool! Plus, twice the swords means twice the power!

Fighting with two swords is cool. I should learn how to do that.

Haha, yeah it is! It's a lot of hard work, though. Years of training!

Uh-huh. I'm sure. That's the hardest part.

They really are.

It'll be fun to write, but I hope everyone likes reading it too.

Thanks, Miwako-chan.

To be so nice to me when I don't deserve it.
