[Fugo is very much aware that there have been a flood of network transmissions, all asking for people to report in: he doesn't want to add to the rush, but he thinks about it, and switches on the video anyway.]

I'd like to know, once again, if the term 'Stand user' means anything to any of you.

[Because he doesn't want to get more specific than that ( Read more... )

One of those what?

Thoughtless types who rely on instinct.

But instinct never lies. Your head tricks you with memories and your emotions can play with you. Instinct is always in the moment, and is always true!

Logic is rational and pragmatic. Humans can't rely on emotions, and they can't rely purely on feral instincts alone-- if we were all slaves of instinct, we'd have long gone extinct, by now.

But logic is always based on the word of someone else, or what some dead guy told us was right. How do you know he's not lying, huh?

Instinct is personal. It's automatic. And it's usually right. Aren't I right?

So on that same vein of logic, you would say that killing instinct is always justified. Is that right?

Well, if you kill someone, you were following your killing instinct. That means there's no denying you killed someone, cause you were following instinct. Instinct doesn't lie, so you can't lie that you didn't kill someone.

Doesn't mean it's right. It just means you did it.

But you said that instinct is 'usually right'. Logically, your argument doesn't hold much water.

[He sighs little and looks somewhat exasperated.]

It definitely wouldn't hold up in a court of your peers.

I said instinct is right because it doesn't lie! You misread what I said.

Your definition of 'right' is pretty broad, then. You might want to narrow it down, or at least indicate some specificity.

[Nitpicky, this one.]

Kinda nitpicking, aren't you?

What's your definition of right?

Dependent largely on the situation and the forseeable future. I understand moral high grounds, but there are some times where you can't survive on just morals alone.

Morals are like emotions sometimes. Sometimes they play with you.

[He looks just a little solemn at that.]

I'm very much aware of that.
