Those kind of weapons are heirlooms or belong to the rich people. The poor have whatever they can grab.

This is strange for me to imagine. The richer countries in my world are the ones with the guns and such.

Things change, or so I've heard. Guns can be massed produced but a single sword takes a year to make.

Pretty much means produced in massive quantities in very little time. A gun company can make a couple thousand in a week, and bullets are in the millions.
