He's was en route by 'grab something', but turned to make a stop by his room after 'undress' to pick up his (fortunately unloaded, but still intimidating) pistol and his scalpels. He's walking to the eight floor slowly - if he ran, he would certainly end up killing a bystander in the adrenaline.

Of all the times he's wished he's had his death machine back since it broke, all those moments together do not compare to his desire for it now...
