Um, I hate to be the ants at your narrative picnic, but you might well have heard that same song, not sung by John Denver butrather by one hippy-dippy folk singer chick named Joni Mitchell, probably in your prior life as a small sprout in the back seat of a car driven ny two moon-and-stars hippy-dippy dancer-cheesemaker types.

It's just a possibility. And a rather catchy tune.

Oops--please replace "Joni Mitchell with "Peter, Paul and Mary" in the previous post.

Did they do it, then? Huh. Part of what I recognized was the opening bit, though. I don't know that Peter, Paul, and Mary would have used the same opening, but I daresay it's possible.

Eh, half the fun of narration is the actual wordsmithing, so corrections are fine.
