My sister and I observe Dec. 25th - in fact, pretty much all holidays - in the spirit of Baxter Day.

For those who haven't seen Arthur's Perfect Christmas, Buster Baxter's divorced mother is so obsessed with doing Christmas right for her son that it's freaking them both out. He finally convinces her that they can just take it easy on the 25th,

There with you. I did get together with friends, but it was an informal event. Unlike my best friend, who attended his extended family's dinner and said he was so stressed he needed sedation. Right.

When you need a holiday to recuperate from the holiday, you need to rethink your choices.

As both my sister and I are working women (and she the single mother of two boys, one of them autistic), we prize our down time highly. And any day that begins with champagne is off to a good start!
