Holy splorgle. Please please please have another part to this! (If for no other reason than to see Mrs. Hudson on the warpath.)

That said, the descriptions and turns of phrase were just drop-dead gorgeous. Delft-blue of the sky, for example. Love it.

If you think Mrs. Hudson would leave a Scotsman in the hands of English bastards without mustering the troops, you've got another think coming.

The seed of this story was my drive yesterday through California wine country - hot and beautiful this time of year. Took only a moment to picture Watson and Holmes enjoying a holiday in France.

This is magnificent! I can't wait for Holmes to hear about this, that is, if you're planning on writing more of this!

Yeah, I can't really leave it like that can I?

I just read your new entry (Holmes POV of Impeachable) and re-read this now. I could have sworn I had commented on this already.
Poor Watson. Jolly good whump you laid upon him this time! Kidnapping for ransom is a really good plot.
And thoughts of Mrs Hudson and her claymore for the win. Although I now picture her only having to pry up the floorboards beneath the thistle cross-stitch that says: "Stay Calm, Be Brave, and Wait for the Signs".

(Consider adding forward links for the other related conclusions to this?)

Thanks! Yeah, I'm sorry I couldn't work Mrs Hudson's sword-waving rampage of revenge into the denouement.

Also, thanks for the reminder to post forward links. Will do so!
