A Raised Garden Bed Question

Has anyone here ever used cement backer boards to build a raised bed?
I'm told that they last nearly forever and don't attract termites the way lumber does nor do they rot.

its a neat idea, i'd be interested to know how it holds up long term. i prefer my beds taller.

i used regular concrete building blocks to make my raised beds. three layers tall makes a perfect height for me to sit on the edge. and they're wide enough to side on the edge while i do my weeding. i have three of them now and i love them. my dad and i put mortar horizontally between the layers, and construction adhesive on all the vertical joints. the oldest one is 12 years old and shows no signs of wear.
