What killed my Tibetan Primrose--A Help Request

Last week my Tibetan primrose (primula florindae) was in fine fettle, loads of nice lush green leaves, and a couple of huge flower stalks laden with blooms. Over the last couple of days though the leaves have all wilted and collapsed, and the flower stalks have shrivelled. Poke around and see what the roots are like. See if they are rotten (too wet) or eaten (gophers). Here, sudden collapse usually means gophers, but I don't know if you have them.

If the roots are rotting, you might save them by digging them, removing all rotten portions, cut the tops back, and pot up into well drained (lots of perlite) potting soil for awhile and hope they grow new roots. If it's gophers, all you can do is cut the tops back and hope there is enough root left to support the top while it regrows.
