That's wonderful! I do have to say that it sounds as though it's time to break out the cayenne pepper powder though and sprinkle it everywhere you've planted bulbs. You gotta give those squirrels some spice to go with their food you know. (GRIN) :D
I put my Christmas tree out on the deck after New Years sometimes. One year I propped it up and made peanut butter / bird seed mash and rubbed it on the branches. The squirrels loved it. Increasing amounts of cayenne pepper (and I mean a LOT of it) didn't seem to deter them one bit.

I planted one hundred crocus bulbs for my mother one year. The squirrels got all but two.

The squirrels dug up and replanted most of my crocuses. They are now all over the lawn. It looks pretty though.
