Sweat Peas help

I planet some sweat peas awhile ago and I'm worried about it. This ws the first time I ever planted them and the plant it grew but then it seemed to just stop and the leaves, it just doesn't look right to me. I don't know if it's the ants that invaded the ground near it or it's not getting enough water I really like some feedback.

some of mine did that last year and I have no idea why- the others ones did great! And that was with good garden soil. If at first you don't succeed, try again. :D
Agree with the others though, the soil doesn't look that good- it's pretty sandy? You'll want to start adding some compost (like chopped up leaves) and better soil to what you have.

Sympathies! It takes a whole lot more amending to turn sand into serious soil than it does to lighten and loosen clay soils, despite the reputation clay has for being miserable.
