It's still pretty cold up there. Wait till spring before you decide to uproot it. It may send out some shoots from the base.

Looks like transplant shock/frost damage to me. How pot-bound was it? Is it possible that it rooted through the bottom of the pot and then ripped from where it was?

It's not a goner. Cut off the uglys and be patient. As so many bitch, bamboo is hard to kill.

Good point. It wasn't completely pot-bound, but now that I remember, when I was loosening the roots up to get it out of the pot, some of them did tear apart from the main root-ball. Hopefully with time and some TLC, it'll recover.
