Direct sow the poppies, they'll be perfectly happy with that.

The amount my daylilies have grown in the last year is ASTOUNDING. I divided one last month and gave it my my sister and if I had the time and inclination I could probably have easily gotten 5 or more healthy divisions from one variety. I love it.

alrighty, i'll get them in the ground tomorrow. thanks. :)

daylilies are amazing. i didn't expect them to take over that fast. the upside? we'll have enough to line the grassy areas between the sidewalk and driveway, and thereby kill the need to mow the lawn over there, within a year or two. hooray for free solutions to the grass problem. :D

I'm in the Italian equivalent of USDA zone 7b, and here it's still too cold for direct sowing snapdragons. However, I plan on direct sowing mine from next Monday (the 19th, when the moon is right) and place half PET bottles over them for protection (no cap on the top half, and with a couple of holes poked into the bottom half).

I really have nothing garden related to add to the discussion, but I just wanted to say that your duck butt icon is to die for.

i really need to get more done down there to justify photos. our rack setup cost us far less than a rack kit costs.
