they are pretty hard to kill, just let them grow. Mine are now weeds.

Purple coneflowers grow long taproots, so you should put them in deep pots.

You can keep them inside until time to transplant outside. They're less likely to stretch if you keep the temp a little on the cool side. Good luck!
