Finally my Dhalias have bloomed, and after something destroyed my lilys I'm very please that they came through so well! I ma still pestered with slugs and snails, even after trying every method suggested. Its so aggravating.

Beautiful pictures. I love dahlias too, but can't be bothered to dig them up every fall. They will die otherwize in our winter climates. I don't have a cold room to store them, or else I would. I do love my lilies though. To get rid of the slugs and snails take a newspaper, roll it up loosely, then soak it with water. Lay it in the garden near the affected plants overnight. In the morning put it in a pail of water and the slugs will drown. They love damp and will crawl inside the wet newspaper. You can do this every night until they are all gone. And you don't have to worry about using harmful insecticides either. This will also work for earwigs.
