So, I have a question in regards to how to get rid of black widows, brown widows, and brown recluse. I have a couple of piles of rocks that I have collected over the years and use to border my gardens with. My mom collects a lot of spiders with the sticky traps she puts in her basement. I don't know how effective they'd be outside though.

Egads, I don't have anything much to add, except to dispatch them ASAP, while they're still all in one place. A surprise wouldn't be nice.

I used Raid, and if the puppy is going to be around (and can't be kept away for a couple days), that suggestion is not too much of a help. Not to mention, you're using the rock in your garden, and I don't know what the effects of the Raid I used or the residue therefrom would be on plants.

In addition to long sleeves / long pants: Remember to bring all of your shoes and gloves inside - brown recluses like to hide down in there. We have developed a habit of tapping our shoes out before we put them on, especially while camping.
