I had thought this was an apple tree, but now with the oblong fruit shapes I'm feeling unsure. They also seem to have a crease along them like you might see in a plum. Anyone recognize this tree?
There are two other cherry trees in the yard and the leaf shapes are not very similar to this one, neither were the flower groupings or stem length, but maybe this is a very different variety? It'll be interesting to see either way!

Found it, I think. It's Prunus mume, the Japanese ume plum.
