I have gophers here in my yard too (annoying little beasts) and I got some 'Shake Away', not expecting much, but it works! They little monsters had gotten into my raised flower bed and that was the last straw for me. This stuff is available online at Park Seed and here. I was amazed! I shake it around the bed (also around my raised veggie bed, although that has a sturdy layer of chicken wire at the bottome that seemed to really work last summer). I figured it was worth spending 15 bucks to try it and I'm very pleased! (not associated with the co or anything, just a very relieved customer!). I was even happier that it is not a poison or environmentally destructive as well!

Poisin?! No!!!! They might be a pest but still! What about live traps? Or what hippediva suggested? There must be alternatives to killing. :(

I agree that Shake Away for small critters is a good solution. I bought it at Agway. It is natural and will not add chemicals to or harm your veggies. We tried a have a heart trap last year, but it never worked. They are very crafty critters.

My sister got rid of gophers by emptying a fully-loaded litter box into the run and filling in the hole. Worth a try!
