Why is Rocket so tasty?

What can I do to stop bugs eating all my Rocket before I get to it? It seems to be the most popular plant for things to chomp on.

(Rocket is the same thing as Arugula apparently).

I have no idea what I'm talking about so feel free to ignore me. Is it slugs? If so I hear putting out plates of beer will deter them. *slinking back to my corner now* Good luck with finding a solution. :)

Actually, it might be snails, I've seen them around. Can you use something other than beer? No-one in the house drinks it so there's none around.
