[Action // Voice]

Mar 31, 2010 00:53

[An hour or so after dawn on the 31st and a little before it starts storming, the mun got confused on the weather calendar, the sound of water splashing can be heard over the journals. This little girl woke up to much confusion, but she also woke up outside for the first time that she can remember and amazement has temporarily displaced alarm. ( Read more... )

oblivious to everything, it makes sense to her, this is perfectly logical, *ultra* oblivious, ~voice, ~action, flower girl! now in size small, the journals use talking bugs

[There's a man out for a walk in the woods. Probably asking for it given the recent string of murders and the fact a giant wolf lives out there, but dammit if he doesn't enjoy having a cigarette to himself. But when he spots a little girl... in the typical New Feather gear, he can't help but be suspicious. It was a day early, wasn't it?]

[The little girl turns when she hears someone approaching, and the sight of a man who's awfully bigger than her with a stern expression makes her nervous. Her first thought is she's been caught sneaking out--even though she didn't remember actually sneaking out--but he doesn't look like someone who'd be working with the professor. She musters a smile, though her fingers are fidgeting with her dress.] Hello? ...oh, is this your book, mister?

[He shakes his head.] Nope. I got my own. That one's yours.

Uh-uh, I just found it. [Someone has clearly not checked out the cover yet.] I'll go find who lost it. [She looks around... ... they are not close enough to see the town so she has no idea where she'd find other people.]

Everyone gets one, kid. [He pulls out his own and points the cover.] And they have names on them, see?

[After a few seconds of hesitation she moves closer to him to look at his cover, then crouches down by her own book.] Miss Ladybug, it's time to move.

[...Please hold for the little girl to scoot the bug off the journal with her hand.]

[He'll cross his arms and wait. There's something somewhat familiar about her. Huh.]

[SUCCESS, bug is off. Thank you for waiting. She closes the cover, looks at her name on there and--wait. She sounds it out quietly, just to be sure.]

Aer...ith. Aerith. They put my name here. [She gathers the book up in her arms, still looking at the cover before she looks up at Goroh again.] It's mine!

...But who's it from?

[He blinks. Aerith?]

Some folk called the Mallies. [...] Aerith? Aerith what?

[She blinks in confusion before looking down at the journal again, and...her face falls a bit. Oh, adoption.] Oh. This is for Aerith Gains-bo-rough. [The last syllable gets pronunced "ruff" instead of "row"--it's the first time she's seen the name.] That's not me.

Gainsborough. [Sadly they never talked enough for him to know why that would be the case. Oh well, time to casually slip into bullshit mode.] Gainsborough is a friend of mine, but she went away a few weeks ago. Why don't you hold on to that for her 'til she gets back, yeah?

[...Yeah, that's bullshit. But Aerith has no inkling and she's a little bit of a bser herself.] Okay! Um, it's all right if I borrow her book for now, right? Since everyone's supposed to have one. [also because she doesn't want to get in trouble for being somewhere she's not supposed to be :I]

It'll be fine. She ain't using it now, right? [He'll toss his cigarette down now and put it out with his boot.] There's a village north of here. [He glances up at the sky.] And it looks like we have rain incoming.

Oh, don't--! [She frowns when he grounds his foot against the grass, then looks up at the sky when he comments about rain.] Right, the clouds bring the rain. Which way's North? What kind of people live in the village, are they nice?

[The grass is fine! Just a little smushed and torn. Not that he cares. Or that the mun cares. He points in the direction he was just came from.] Place is called Luceti. Most of the people ain't too bad. Some of them are pretty boring and a lot of 'em have no sense of humor. Decent folk for the most part.

[Thiiiis sounds good.] I don't mind boring people. Lots of people in the lab are boring because they don't like to talk. Thank you Goroh! [She may have just butchered his name because she only knows it from the journal cover. Also she is taking off in the direction he pointed out because, well, she just has to walk a little right? :|a]
