Sorry for vanishing into thin air, guys! I was swamped all weekend and came back to a disaster at work. (Not to mention it's really hard to write when you're seething about the absolute debacle in the wake of Katrina. Those of you who are participating in the auction, my hat's off to you ( Read more... )

Thank you. *hugs* It seems to be. I did my last little bit on the project from hell (Transcribing, fact-checking and translating two years of what are essentially after-dinner speeches but are necessary for the Seminary's historical records and religious law precedents) and now I'm on to the joyful but still busy task of proofreading what I think will be a revolutionary book on Jewish law, taking the argument away from the extremists on the right and the left and giving an eloquent voice back to the middle.

Hey . . . you owe us nothing. We are just darn lucky to get to read these wonderful stories, whenever they happen to appear. (And this gives one time to go back and reread some favorites . . . ) I hope whatever is bedeviling you gets better soon, but for your sake! (And, of course, it's nice to know you are still alive out there, so thanks for the heads-up.)

Thanks, sweetie. I just hate breaking promises. But I stayed late at work last night and finished the thing that terrified me, so now I'm still spread thin but not panicking anymore.

On the up side, I sat down this morning and wrote about half of a new part, so I'm hoping to give you guys a treat tonight.

I tried emailing you, but it bounced. Your idea sounds fantastic, and please feel free. I'm sorry to hear she's sick, can you point me to the page so I can see how she's doing and what I can do to help?

Yum! What a lovely picture!

Thanks for the good wishes. It looks like we're going to get two, possibly three long-delayed projects out the door by the end of the year, and the VP can stop breathing down our necks. (He's a sweetie, but he's getting understandable pressure from our members and has to pass it on.)
