Yesterday Dad stopped by to visit for a bit. In the course of conversation he blurts out - Are you two going to get married?"  I just kind of look at him for a minute without saying a word. He presses on - "if you are I would like you to wear my wedding ring." He takes off the ring my mother put on his hand 45 years ago and hands it to me

Yes I do, He loves me and Joe very much and looks out for us all the time.

From the time I was 16 he would say, "I love both my children EXACTLY as they are and I wouldn't change a thing about them". I guess he knew before I did that I might bat for a different team.

He has welcomed Joe into the family from the first day he met him, before I ever acknowledged that I was gay in his presence. Joe is jealous that I never really had to come out to my family, They just always sort of knew.
