Happy 80th Aniversary Oscars!

 Anyway as you may or may not know tonight is Oscars night and this time it's especially exceptional given it's the 80th aniversary. (and for me I'm looking forward once again to the Best Animated Feature, Best Director, Best Foreign Film, Best Original Score and Best Original Song) At least for America it is as Channel 9 will be broadcasting the ( Read more... )

..........I can't believe I forgot that it's the Oscars tomorrow. >_>

Personally, I think that it's a weak year BUT I sincerely do hope that Johnny Depp and Cate Blanchett win.

Yes it was a weak year. I'm still reeling from the complete disappointment that the so-called 'year of the threequels' turned out to be. Not to mention I'm wondering why Golden Compass got an award.

Sorta surprised that Transformers lost out on the sound effects categories. Shame really, for everything the movie wasn't it certainly maintained a sense of transformers feel behind that memorable transforming sound.

Also surprised that Enchanted didn't win anything given all it's nominations. Sorta like last years domination of the category by Dreamgirls which lost out to a left-wing tree-hugging, brainwashing propaganda (hey, I like the sound of it) courtesy of 'inspiration' by Al Gore. Oh well, quality over quantity I guess. Falling Slowly in Once feels like more of a high quality and emotive story-telling song compared to the rest.
