Irish 101: Week 2

Week 2 of the Irish 101 course on FutureLearn. Week 2 is divided up into 6 sections: introduction, a catch-up for late-comers, where are you from?, the house, Ireland, and the week summary. There was no real content in the introduction or catch-up so let's start off with the section on where you're from.

It's probably not the best way to learn about a language! You could always try the course yourself, it's being repeated on 7th September, and it's free.

It's a lot of hard work but I am enjoying it. All the cultural side of things is very interesting.

Did you also get confused about an being definite at the beginning? I spent ages being like "an úll is obviously an apple... no, shit!"

It's mostly been used in reference to countries, so an Ríocht Aontaithe, an Airgintín, an Bhrasaíl etc. I think that's made it less confusing because an UK doesn't make sense! We've not got onto fruit yet though ;)
